Sunday Sermon Summary: “Bounce Back!”

Praise Tabernacle International, Plantation, FL.

Pastor D. H. Dawkins, Sr.

Today's sermon spoke about “bouncing back!”

The key verse was from Proverbs 24:16 (KJV):

“For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.”

satan’s main agenda is to have us fall. He desires to demolish us.

As written in John 10:10 (KJV):

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

The enemy places things in our paths so that we can become immobile. Just as the sustain pedal on a piano stretches the sounds of a key played, he wants to sustain the last trial period of pain, even though you have grown and reached the next level. What you should do here is change the station. This can be your circle, your environment, and so forth. The enemy wants to trick you into failing to realize the ability of your mind being able to carry the capabilities of life! “Don’t allow what you’re in to bury you, but let it anchor you to the purpose for the next season.

Instead of wearing the hindrance, put on the HELP of Thee Lord. Remember, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” (Philippians 4:13, KJV). Call for back up. GOD will send that second wind! Christ will bring you back.

Do not give up! You are so close to your destiny!

Let us make a few house stops to show how some individuals bounced back!

First Stop: Samson

When a child was given especially to God, or when a man gave himself to some work for God, he was forbidden to drink wine, and as a sign, his hair was left to grow long while the vow or promise to God was upon him…The child was born and was named Samson. He grew up to become the strongest man of whom the Bible tells” (Bible Hub, 2014).

However, he met Delilah.

(Read your Bible regarding the story of Delilah, and him beginning in Judges 16).

Judges 16:16 (KJV):

“And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death;”

“You are as strong as you are in your will.”

There is a Delilah for everyone, and make sure you are not a Delilah yourself.

We need to start using these two virtues:

Wisdom-how we engage with others

Dignity-the decisions we make when maneuvering through life

After his capture by his enemies, in Judges 16:21, his enemies had believed that they had defeated Samson, and had him work as a grinder in jail. He was going in circles, day in, and day out. The enemy, even ourselves, will have us going in pointless, circles.

However, in Judges 16:22, Samson hair began to grow back. Samson’s hair represented his strength; his virtue. This meant his strength was being renewed. This symbolized how we too can reconcile with GOD!

In Judges 16:28, Samson prayed out to Thee Lord, and asked for strength for one last victory! One last “bounce back!”

Judges 16:30 (KJV):

“And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.”

Next stop: Job

Job had lost everything (Read the Book of Job).

His circumstance only changed when he prayed for his friends (Job 42:10). This was when he was restored.

When you change your perception, the atmosphere around you will be changed as well. Your reality is not limited to the report of man. Have FAITH! Your faith should so robust that you do not say what you see, but start seeing what you say!

P R O F E S S I T!

Become your own prophet!

Job 8:7 (KJV):

“Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.”

Reverse it! Access the power given by GOD to excel into the next level!

Final Stop: Peter

Peter had denied Christ three times (Matthew 26:34)!

Deny: to give up on.

How many times have we chosen to quit? Quitting are actions that were decisions denying Christ. We give up, and deny the power of GOD.

When Jesus told His disciples to “Tarry in Jerusalem (Luke 24:29),” he was speaking to 500 people, but only 120 obeyed. Peter was one of them, and because of his obedience, his “bounce back,” he brought three thousand souls had accepted Christ (Acts 2:14-41)!

GOD created us with room, and purpose in the Earth. This is why you need to stop trying to "fit in."

Stop SLEEPING on yourself!

Use what you have!

Ask yourself: “What is in my hand?

Reverse it on the devil! Give him a 1-2 punch!

Tell him to watch out, because you are going to “bounce back!”

Life Application

Even when you fall, always remember, that you can be redeemed! GOD is a keeper! THEE KEEPER (Psalm 121:5)! NO ONE—NO ONE—will have your back, like GOD will have your back! He CREATED you! Therefore, He defines you! We must not allow ourselves to become distracted by the world, and the enemy! Stay in Thee Word! Surround yourselves with TRUE believers, and followers of Christ—Those who strive to keep His Commandments, and declare JESUS as both LORD AND SAVIOR! Time is passing by! Every second you waste not fulfilling your greater purpose, is DENYING Christ! You cannot get that time back!

What are waiting for?

Get up, dust off your shoulders, and try again!

BOUNCE BACK!!!!
