Sunday Sermon Summary: “You Are Called To Go UP!”
Praise Tabernacle International, Plantation, FL Pastor D.H.Dawkins, Sr. We are still on our journey to Pentecost! Last week we were called to go through. This week we are called to go up! The key verses were from Genesis 12:1-3 (KJV): “1 Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed." (In verse three, clause B, you see that there are more for you, than against you! There is only ONE, the enemy, who is trying to curse you.) However, Lot (Abraham’s nephew) went with Abraham. There is “a Lot” that cannot go with you.
GOD informed Abraham with the plans to bless him and make him a blessing. In order to receive these things Abraham had to:
1. Leave the country and his kindred (family) 2. Follow with no knowledge of where he was going Abraham among idolatry. He was surrounded by an environment that were worshipping other gods. Christ is crowned as the only one Lord and Savior. They were worshipping one of many. Some want GOD, but worship other gods: things, cars, jobs and so forth. Some carry the idea of “GOD, I put you where I am comfortable with you.” Some people worship self, pride, fitness, recreation, and narcissism. In the Bible it speaks of how Nebuchadnezzar created a statue to be worshipped in his name (Daniel 3). GOD called Abraham out of a hostile environment. Your company may not be hostile directly, but it could be towards the purpose of your life. You need to have an unwavering assurance of where you are in GOD’s timeline. The people you are connected to can be hostile towards your agenda; anti-purpose in your life. Desensitize the knowing of who is who. Some people in your life can keep you from your destiny. Limit your access to them. This can be true for the church as well. There can be unhealthy connections here. All because they are Saved does not mean that they are “The one.” Being Saved is not enough. Not all Pastors should speak in your life. 1 John 4:1 (KJV): “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world." The greatest enemies are closer than you think. As learned from last week’s Sunday Sermon Summary: “You Are Called To Go Through!”, (click on link), we see that those who were sent to give a report of the land came back with an evil one (Numbers 13:32). It was evil because it went against the word of GOD. Those who do not want to cross over, will be the ones who will not want you to cross over as well. They are not investing in you! Then there is "a Lot" that you may have to deal with. GOD did not tell Abraham what he had to go through because of his purpose. There are something that we must go through for our purpose. You have to wait on GOD and trust Him when cannot trace Him. Numbers 23:19 (KJV): "God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?" As many of us do, Abraham had some trouble obeying GOD. His disobedience caused a delay in his life. Genesis 12:7 (KJV): “And the Lord appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the Lord, who appeared unto him.”—praying but not obeying. Thinking that prayer will make up for our disobedience. Willing to pray but not obey. Abraham knows that he suppose to separate himself from Lot. If it was sin, you are more likely to leave quickly because sin separates us from GOD and is the destruction of our soul. But because it was Lot, Abraham was holding unto flesh. It may be good, but not GOD. For example, if you get a job that says that they will pay you 10K that can help support your family, but you have to be away from your family. The issue is, that you are already barely with your family due to current job constraints. Is it worth leaving your family? Again, though this not bad, it is not of GOD. Remember, the family was the first established institution in the Bible, and in being so symbolically represents The Church (Genesis). Lot was trying to save a little before they left. Lot was reminiscing of how great it was and was the flesh connection of the old land. These types of connections can awaken appetites that you killed in the past. They can cause a revival of a devil you prayed to cast out. They say life was better BEFORE you got Saved. Remember, in 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV): “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” You are now a NEW creation. They are trying to trigger the old mind. The old mind is elastic and can fit you at any time. SELAH. The new mind is what Lot tries to oppose. GOD is calling you to go up! Lot (flesh connection) had grown almost in proportion to the spirit man. The flesh thinks it can now please GOD; this is why we need the Holy Ghost. Strife came in between Abraham and Lot (Genesis 12). Delayed disobedience was permitted by flesh and reached a place of battle. A little bit of flesh can be seen as leaven—yeast—it speeds and rises! Abraham realizes that they could no longer dwell together (Genesis 13). The land could no longer bare the both of them. There cannot be two landlords in one land. Flesh or Spirit Man? The flesh must be crucified, and cannot be holy and tamed (Galatians 5:24). In Genesis 14, Abraham was able to see what GOD had prepared for him AFTER Lot and him separated. 1 Corinthians 2:9 (KJV): "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” Lot means covering, enwrapped—kept from receiving and seeing what GOD has for you. It can be one little thing that stands in between your breakthrough and destiny. That little things can be “a Lot.” It must be crucified but your in covenant with them. You have placed your future in a godless covenant. “Every year is your year,” but cannot get there because of your “Lot.
”My feelings may have the first say, but my #faith will have the LAST!” D.H.Dawkins. There is BIG trouble with a little “Lot.” Separation is the cross. Again, Galatians 5:24 (KJV): "And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.” Romans 8:13 (KJV): “For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.” Colossians 3:5 (KJV): "Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry." Though hard it is not impossible.
You have the capability, but are choosing not to think? Old mind or new mind?
You were called to go up!
Bow down to the ONLY one, true, wise GOD.
Stop making excuses for your “Lot."
Do not play victim, when you chose to play volunteer.
GOD has called you to go UP! Nigh unto Him that can keep you from falling (Jude 24-25).
Falling is a choice.
GOD keeps you so that He can present you flawless.
You do not have to fall. You were called to go UPPP! Selah...
