Resurrection Sunday: “He Gave Me Another Chance!”

Praise Tabernacle International, Plantation, FL Pastor D.H.Dawkins Today, Resurrection Sunday, marks the last day of Holy Week, but the BEGINNING of true Salvation! The key verses were from Mark 16: 1-7 (NKJV):

He Is Risen "16 Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him. 2 Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen. 3 And they said among themselves, “Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?” 4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away—for it was very large. 5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed. 6 But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. 7 But go, tell His disciples—and Peter—that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you." The focused verse is that of seven:

"But go, tell His disciples—and Peter—that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you." Jesus died our death, so that we could live His life of faith—this is the foundation. We are accustomed to celebrating being filled. The tomb represents empties, and for a change we rejoice about it. Jesus bore our sins in His body. They could not find His body which means, they cannot find our sins. He was buried. He converted souls, and deposited the sins in hell. Then snatched the keys of death and the grave. Finally came up on Sunday to give power in His hands. Another chance to do something. This can be a job, test, relationship, even with GOD! GOD has already given second chances. GOD, Thee Creator of the universe, and Savior. Jesus is the Alpha and Omega. The beginning, and end. He has been the first and last. In Matthew 26:69-75, Peter denies Christ 3xs (replace your name with Peter’s). In Mark 16:7, Peter was singled out, but was still in GOD’s plan. Acts 2:14, GOD never took His hands off of Peter. For every denial Peter committed, 1,000 souls were Saved! Failure is not final. Immutable GOD that does not change. He is the same today, as He was yesterday. Anything can be turned around. Humanity will keep you locked up in your demise, but GOD is the author and finisher, of my faith. 1. The Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-24). The father anticipated everyday. He came out looking for Him. Just as GOD and the Heavens waits for your return—EACH and EVERYDAY. Do not let other stop you, remember, you will have to answer to GOD. Sins are forgiven=restoration=ministry of reconciliation It is not GOD’s will that anyone of us should perish (2 Peter 3:9), but it is the will of GOD that you have life, and more abundantly (John 10:10). GOD accepts you as you are, but does not leave you as you are. Reconciliation—before you were in your mother’s womb, GOD though about you in His mind (Jeremiah 1:5). Jesus closes the gap of deity, and humanity. You are restored, because you now know Christ as our Savior, and walk in unity with the love about you (only what GOD says about you). John 14:6 (KJV): "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Way = Door to Heaven Truth = What He says I Am Life = How my life should be honorable towards Him

Failure is not final.

2. Jonah (Jonah 1). GOD told him to do something he was not ready to do. Jonah chose to do the polar opposite of what GOD directed him to complete. We have lower spiritual exceptions because we are failing, but GOD knows our frame. “He knows me, but still chose me.” Our flesh is angry with GOD, which leads us to dishonor Him, by mocking Him. In Jonah 3:1, GOD speaks to Jonah again, giving Him a second chance. Others that were given second chances:

  • Abraham-Disobedience/lack of patience

  • Noah- Drunkeness

  • David-Adultery

  • Rahab- Prostitute

Jesus did not die for what we done, but what we would do yesterday, today, and tomorrow. ALL was done, on the cross. Hell cannot hold sin over your head. To get to Heaven “go through” Jesus. To get to hell, you “go by” Him. Failure is not final. When GOD gives us a second chance: A. Acknowledge our failures B. Confess our sins C. Put it behind you D. Move forward—when you learn from the lessons hidden in every lost. The law humbles pride. The Gospel removes our demise. John 3:16-3:17, we are not condemned. However, in John 3:19, whomever does not believe is already condemned. It is our choice why are condemned. Without our own will, we cannot worship. Without our will it is forced. GOD is rich in mercy (Ephesians 2:4). You cannot “behave” your way into Salvation. In order to have a Spiritual birth, be born again, you must accept Jesus as both LORD, and Savior. We love to give our sins, but not our life. The second chance of humanity: I was first born into sin (natural birth), but being born again is to have a blood transfusion, change of DNA, to now stand in GOD. Christ can now live within (Galatians 2:20), and ANYTHING done through Christ which strengthens us (Philippians 4:13).

Failure is not final. Life Application You do not have to be perfect, you just have to be willing. . He does not want us to suffer. He is Thee GOD of life, favor, and security. You WILL NEVER GO WRONG WITH GOD! He is the winning team! The ONLY team! Jesus died—bore our sins, so that we could be forgiven, and have life. What an UNFAIR exchange. It should have been YOU! It should have been me. GOD is so merciful and forgiving! What are you waiting for? There is no better time than now to come. Come back home.
